Great training - too reliant on 'if your face fits'

I have been working at Retail Human Resources full-time for more than a year

    Pros

superb training and guidance from the team, who have bags of experience to call on. There is a structure to get promoted through the business, which is unusual for the recruitment sector.

    Cons

Despite the look of a positive, energetic business from an external point of view, there's a lot of office politics and you'll find that if your face fits, that's sometimes rewarded more than performance. .
Also, in recruitment you need to drive new business through strong sales and whilst they taught a lot of 'candidate management' they don't teach 'sales' and just hope people pick it up.

RHR after good training and the flat structure works well.

I have been working at Retail Human Resources

    Pros

Training is important at RHR, makes the agency stand out in comparison to competition and staff are professional. They recognize the importance of offering client and candidates good service.

    Cons

Senior staff can be pressurising at times and as a result the work/life balance can be off skew

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Department directors should monitor the working relationships with Account directors and RE's/AE's more closely
