I worked at Southwest Airlines as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Great environment, Wonderful facilities. Best coworkers anyone could ask for. Extremely diverse crowd, one of every kind. Amazing resources for self education. Great documentation overall.

    Cons

Slow to move ideas through red tape. Felt like advancement was more based upon waiting a certain amouont of time rather than merit / performance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have some of the best employees that still have more to give than just ideas. Look to tap (not over tax) into and get the most from your employees and ALL of their talents.

I have been working at Southwest Airlines full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Flexible environment, People are first, great atmosphere, decent pay for non-manager positions. Great career development opportunities where the sky truly is the limit at this company. It is a very rich culture.

    Cons

A lot of meetings and politics. You may have to filter what you say in various groups which is unfortunately considering that the right information at the right time is so vital in this industry. Job specific training is also lacking.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Surround yourself with the right people when making strategic decisions!
