I have been working at Southwest Airlines full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Loved the "luv", the people, the family atmosphere, the flight benefits. Received a lot of excellent training and was able to innovate without a bunch of corporate hindrances.

Cons

I was at poverty level even after 3 years in a management position. I think things have changed in the 13 years since I have been there, but that was one of the primary reasons I left.

I worked at Southwest Airlines as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

Casual, friendly environment, fun people, and goot times

    Cons

Less than cohesive process or technical environment. Yet much, much, better than most companies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Southwest Airlines full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Really friendly culture. Many employees still understand the fundamentals of costumer and employee relations.

    Cons

Inconsistent work rules, poor use of employee resources department, too many cooks in the kitchen when it comes to corporate managment positions. Growing too fast to maintain the culture that was instilled by the great Herb Kelleher.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop worrying about wall street and get back to fundamentals. This company did not make it forty years on stock quotes.
