Good benefits, low pay

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsBenefit packages are good and offer a variety of options. Premiums are good compared to private industry. Before the economy tanked, it was nearly impossible to lose your job.

ConsManagement is often appointed based on political favors, and may not know a thing about the agency he/she is put in charge of. There is little transparency. Because of the economy and a ridiculously right-wing, bible-thumping legislature, jobs are left at the whims of others.

Advice to Senior ManagementPut leaders in place that have training, proven competency in their field, and a plan and vision. Discourage micromanaging.
