I have been working at Sun Life full-time (less than an year)

Pros

Loads of oppertunities, interesting products. Finance industry.
Possibility of working form home easily.

Cons

Only 2 weeks vacation, some companies (BCE) offer 3 weeks the first year with possibility of purchasing an extra week with HSA flex credits, for a total of 4 weeks vacation after a year.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer purchase of an extra week vacation with HSA credits. Some people dont get massages, and stuff like that... they rather have some extra time off. Time is priceless.

I worked at Sun Life full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Sun Life is a great place to work, with great benefits and lots of opportunities for career growth. The people are wonderful and the atmosphere is like a family setting. Great collaboration among teams and management allowing individuals to excel and grow.

    Cons

Laid off 30% of staff this year and lost a lot of talented employees in the process. The company politics can be frustrating and challenging in getting things done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Realizing that its the bottom dollar vs retaining talented and experienced employees is your goals, you lost a lot of wonderful people in the layoffs that would off actually saved you money in the long run.
