Trusting, fast paced high tech company that tries to do a lot in the way of Talent Acquisition with limited resources.

I have been working at Symantec full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Well established company with lots of policies to follow. It's very easy to work there and the managers are generally friendly. Dev people usually have enough time to finish projects and only few over-time work. Company also has lots of internal training courses - both career development and technical stuff. Depends on the team's nature, you may have the options to work at home quite frequently.

    Cons

However the operation of development on consumer security and enterprise management products in Australia is shrinking, they lay off people every year. And due to the nature of IT and security business in Australia, it's not easy to transfer the knowledge you learn there to your next employer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Although there are lots surveys for the employees to give feedbacks, the management did not do well to secure the jobs for people who work for them. This really disappoint people and let some talents down.
