Former Employee - Project Planner in London, England (UK)

I worked at Thales as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good place to work, good team atmosphere, supportive management team

    Cons

Commercially they could be more assertive towards the client (London Underground) to make sure that extra work requested by the client is paid for.
there wasn't a robust system for capturing lost time of site, and claiming the cost off the client.
Gave the client progress reports that were beyond the scope of the contract, making reporting very onerous and the quality of the reports suffered as a result.
Quality of progress reports from site was poor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Set up a system for capturing lost time and billing London Underground.
Improve communication with site staff and Project management team.
Make Project management team do 1 night on site per month each.
