Business Analyst (Former Employee) Hartford, CT (US)

ProsWas great place to work before current management moved in from BofA. Good PTO, remote working and team building made it easy and fun to work there.

ConsConstant layoffs of Corp IT and outsourcing to Indian consultants made work process almost impossible to control. Reduction in benefits and retirement plans and indecisive management motivated me to find another job. A 200 year old company decided that American workers are too expensive and their knowledge of the business and its system development have no value. The senior management operates to please investment analysts vs. its customers.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop managing to Wall Street expectations and keep Americans working in America.

– I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Attempting to bring the company into the 21st century

    IT Consultant (Current Employee)

I have been working at The Hartford full-time

Pros: Using Lean to help streamline processes and procedures for efficiency… Cons: * Top heavy (management) * Need to incorporate industry best practices into processes and procedures in all areas of the company. *… Advice to Senior Management: * Place "like" or "same" services for all Lines of Business and Enterprise in one area to provide the attention required and steamline processes… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company… More

Pros: Great people to work with, good benefits and 19 days… Cons: Some managers/executives just manage rather than lead. Laying off whole departments… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
