I have been working at Towers Watson full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

My group is full of hardworking smart people who are genuine in their commitment to clients. People live the company values: Clients first, collaboration, professional excellence, integrity and respect.

Cons

I would like to see more communication between groups. There have been some post-merger growing pains but I feel we are now getting to be one integrated company.

I worked at Towers Watson as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - tons of opportunities for personal & professional development
    - smart people
    - interesting work
    - autonomy
    - flexibility (work from home very accepted)

    Cons

    - inconsistent leadership across business units; some leaders don't communicate, others do
    - risk aversion to telling people realities of change post-merger lead to many frustrated & disengaged associates

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be open - give your very smart people the benefit of the doubt - deliver tough messages without sugar coating, those who don't accept it don't belong there in the long run.
