Pros

Like the products, clothes, lingerie. People at my store in Century City were nice, but that's not true of every store.

Cons

Horrible pay (but that's expected for this type of retail job)

    Pros

Flexible with scheduling around my availability.
Lots of Perks (cheap/free stuff/good discount).
    The work is pretty easy.
Managements is really nice and understanding.

    Cons

Can have late nights closing the store.
Wish salary was higher or that we could get paid commission on sales.

I felt like a cog in a corporate machine; my personal life, thoughts and beliefs didn't matter.

    Pros

Merchandise discount, sometimes we got free bras or beauty products, had a ton of customer interaction, the sales goals were reasonable and attainable

    Cons

I was expected to devote my entire life to this store even though I was working part time. I didn't feel respected; when I was extremely sick, something out of my control, my managers were almost disgusted with me for not being able to give 100%. I was called into work to cover for several girls even when I wasn't on call or said I wasn't available. I worked really hard and always met or exceeded my sales goals but I never received any positive feedback from managers, only when I had done something wrong.

    Advice to Management

Your associates are people with lives and responsibilities. It is not realistic to expect them to give as much to the job as a store manager or full time manager would. Of course you want to run your store as efficiently and as effectively as possible, but it should never be at the expense of your employees. People want to feel respected, motivated and encouraged.
