Former Employee - Store Clerk in Chicago, IL (US)

I worked at Walgreens part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay for mostly menial, basic work was fair. The shifts and breaks were dependable.

    Cons

They cut essential staff hours making the work and customer service experience sub-par. The store managers have a massive work load since there aren't enough personel for each store.

A great company with an incredible foundation. Unfortunately, those standards don't apply in supply chain divisions.

I have been working at Walgreens full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Company at a corporate level has great value and shows sincere dedication towards it's employees.

    Cons

Employee benefits are some of the worst in the industry. Management at the site-level (D.C., in my case) is BEYOND blasphemous. They will treat you like dirt, like you don't matter. Promotions are granted on a "who-you-know" basis, and those in charge don't know anything about standard management procedure. If you want to feel like dirt, have your morale dropped, and feel as though you're unwanted and replaceable, then JOIN WALGREENS!
