Great company overall!

Store Manager (Former Employee)
Memphis, TN (US)

I worked at Walmart full-time for more than 10 years

ProsLeader in the industry.
The associates you have the privilege of working with and leading.
Great compensation for managers.

ConsBottom line has become more important than associates working there.
Below average compensation for hourly associates and schedules for hourlies are really inconsistent.
Becoming scorecard driven and it's taking away from customer service levels in the stores.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to the leaders in the stores that have been with the company for many years. They do know what they are talking about. They have a better idea of what they need to run the store than a computer or some college kid fresh out of school in Bentonville does.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Wal Mart Cashier (Current Employee)
Belleville, MI (US)

I have been working at Walmart part-time for less than a year

Pros: -learned useful skills such as how to work a cash… Cons: -No one wants to work at Wal-Mart -The benefits are non-existent and what there is they make you wait for like I have to be working… Advice to Senior Management: You guys are making a ton of money! Pass on the profits to the employees via higher pay, it wouldn't kill the company at all.… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
