I have been working at Warner Bros. Home Entertainment full-time for more than a year

Pros

The benefits are really good: health care, life insurance,

You get to see early screenings of movies.

You have easy access to enter/leave the Warner Brother's lot. It's not uncommon to see movie stars or filming during my lunch break.

The cafeteria is cheap and tasty.

Overall, it's a nice culture.

Cons

The pay is low compared with other companies.

Upward movement seems happen very slowly

I have been working at Warner Bros. Home Entertainment as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

No Pros. I was a contractor and even though we put in lot of hours working hard, there was no praise or support given. Worst. Worst client to work for.

    Cons

Worse client I ever worked with.
    Long hours.
No praise or help or support.
Expectation is like crazy. They expect people to work 24 hours.
They don't know what to work on and then expect people to deliver on time. First they should clear what they really want and where they want to go with a project and should have real world expectations

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They should try to stay real world. People are not their slaves and don't just work for them. They have personal lives too.

I have been working at Warner Bros. Home Entertainment as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

-Warner Bros. produces great content, is an industry leader in home entertainment, and is more innovative than other studios with exploring new initiatives; you would be proud to be a part of it.
-Not an overly corporate atmosphere where you are micromanaged
-A lot of great, smart people work here
-Some people are paid well compared to other places; but it depends

    Cons

-The Home Entertainment group consists of home video, digital, and interactive... the distribution of individual resources given to each of these subsets is wildly imbalanced, and frankly, makes little rational sense considering trends, numbers, expectations, etc.
-Strong sense of competitiveness between different groups; there isn't a natural tendency to collaborate and share, it's like a fake niceness when they see the others as a threat or someone who could potentially put you out of a job
-A lot of the hardest workers (with the best experience/education) are perpetual contractors that are overworked and underpaid with little to no longterm career prospects - regardless of how well they perform. There seems to be more and more emphasis on cheap labor, which is not a smart way to run the business in the longterm because outside of a bad economy, you give valuable team members absolutely NO motivation to stay... which then makes the team suffer in regards to constant turnover and no one left that is aware of how to get things done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward good work, not politics. Pay attention to what is best for where the company/industry is headed.
