I have been working at Xerox as a contractor for less than a year

Pros

Xerox provides a wonderful environment for it's employees to work. They offer competitive pay and friendly employees. The training centers create a great environment for learning, with top notch tools and resources to complete the job.

Cons

Some of the downfalls are the occational system issues and communication separation between employees and management. The biggest con is the project based environment and the manner in which they dismiss temporary employees.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please communicate to employees better.

    Pros

    Watching the supervisors act like idiots whenever a team made their call commit for the week.

    Cons

    Surveys that affected your pay if you got a low score no matter what you did for the customer. 3 failed surveys in one month and you were fired

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get rid of the surveys.. That's one of the reasons there is such a high turnover.

    I have been working at Xerox full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Working with great customers. Somehow being able to stay employed with them for many years.

    Cons

    Senior management does not know what they are doing. Poor decisions are made constantly. Forever cutting costs at the customers expense. Always in a downsizing mode, even if you are hired don't expect to last long. You are treated as a number, not a human being that can contribute to the future of the company. This company has become a horror to work for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Replace existing management with folks who know what they are doing. The constant downsizing for years and years is just creating a fleet of mediocre employees. Talented employees are leaving so inexperienced kids can fill in for half the cost. Customers do notice the changes and it is getting harder and harder to convince them to stay.
