Director (Current Employee)
Sunnyvale, CA (US)

I have been working at Yahoo full-time for more than 5 years

Prosfamily friendly, recognized and respected brand name for users and as an employer, lots of opportunity

Consbig boat that is trying to turn around, nice culture is a detriment, still a lot of fat

Advice to Senior Managementdecide on a strategy and STICK with it. communicate openly and broadly, and not just downward. empower the ranks who know what is going on, instead of hoarding the plans at the VP level

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

They have fallen ... and they can't get up.

Manager (Former Employee)
Sunnyvale, CA (US)

I worked at Yahoo full-time for more than 8 years

Pros: Free coffee, above average salaries. Sunnyvale office has great amenities,… Cons: Politicking, backstabbing, no directorial and above direction, constant goalpost changing, cronyism. Promotion and hiring inside Yahoo! is now more or less a question of knowing someone,… Advice to Senior Management: Stop hiring your buddies to quickly bleed the company and start hiring qualified managers, directors, and above. Quit re-orging every three months, with so little… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
