Current Employee – been working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time for more than a year
Pros – Most employees of ERAC are fresh college grads...green and moldable. The relationships you build with co-workers as well as regular customers is great. Because of regular customers you have the ability to network well.
Advancement opportunities are "abundant"...as long as your on that "list" and qualify.
Corporate campus n Stl is gorgeous.
Get to drive all kinds of vehicles.
In essence, like most major companies, if you play the game, drink their Kool-aid, and are willing to put in the time, opportunities will be presented to you.
Cons – Drink the Kool Aid...that's it. ERAC is a large and successful co. that has proven success doing things their way. So do it their way and play the game or get pushed to he side. It's very much a sales game. While your paycheck may not reflect it, your career will.
Too conservative as co in general...n specific the dress..white shirt and tie everyday, all day, n 100+ degrees...no facial hair, etc.
Matrix system, while beneficial, also hinders good qualified poeple from getting promoted so the wrong person gets the spot.
Hours...48 a wk...sort of...unless your at the airport which is 365 days a yr. and you may work 8days in a row.
Advice to Senior Management – Relax your attitudes and culture. Instead of hiring any college grad that wants to sell, hire intellects that want a career. Don't base all promotions on your matrix without exception...good candidates get passed up because they are in the wrong branches at the wrong time.

Former Employee – worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car part-time for less than a year
Pros – Overall great experience. Currently - working somewhere else. However, my thoughts and experiences are positive of this company. Initial pay is sub-par. If your looking to move up expect to put your time in and hit your sales goals (2-3 years)
Cons – Washing cars in a suit or dress, listening to customers asking, "you need a college degree to work here?"

Former Employee – worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car as an intern for less than a year
Pros – The group I was employed with were very easy to get along with and quite helpful. I was given ample amounts of responsibility from the get-go and was included on many important projects. The culture at ERAC really embraced innovation, and I felt that the management was receptive to new ideas.
Cons – I was often times not given specific deadlines to know when to have projects completed.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep being open to innovation, and ensure specific deadlines for projects are properly communicated.

Former Employee – worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – you can move up in the company very quickly, and there are many opportunities, and the company has one of the best training programs.
Cons – The hours are very long typically 6:45 AM-6:30 PM M-F and Sat 8:30 AM-12:30 some offices are also open on Sundays. In the management trainee program the hours are not that bad because you typically work every other weekend and get to leave one day a week early. However, when you become a manager you tend to work longer hours and if you are at a large store rarely have time to take a lunch break. The pay was also not what I was promised as a manager you make commission off what the office makes and your percentage is based off of what the previous manager did but you are suppose to make no less then 55/year for working 50-60 hour weeks.
Advice to Senior Management – The company is great to start your career. However, not somewhere to stay long term, it really is a fun environment and the free trainings are great. As you move up in the company though, the managers do not receive the proper compensation for the demand of the business the hours that are worked are long and uncalled for and most offices are short staffed. The company needs to add more people and have them work less hours. If the company could figure out a way to rotate schedules so everyone gets at least one day off during the middle of the week more people would stay, I would say the biggest complaint for the company is the hours that are worked, it is not worth the pay that is given.
