Former Employee – worked at Fgic
Pros – There is a lot of stability in the firm and industry (though not at this moment). You have to have already decided what you want to do in life before you start here. Most employees have considerable experience before they've entered the firm. Not much room to try new things and get exposure to different facets of the business.
Cons – Smaller firm in the bond insurance business. No real pipeline to develop talent within firm. Not many mentor-mentee relationships. It's almost as if people don't like each other.
Advice to Senior Management – There is a high level of tolerance for unproductive people within the firm. People get away with slacking off in a way they wouldn't at any other company, which hurts morale of those who actually do their work...
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
