Former Employee – worked at Foster Wheeler
Pros – The common comment was: It used to be a great company; today it has good ergonomics and offices.
Cons – It is confirmed. Having several conversations with employees at other divisions of the company I received the same comments. Secretaries rule over managers to the point that managers are fired and secretaries stay, the rest is up to your imagination, so on this perspective you can figure out what is the rest of the company. I speak for the Houston operation only, no clue of other offices.
Advice to Senior Management – Pay attention to what are you doing with Sr. Management and the empowered ladies. Some of the long term managers have to much concentrated power that will eventually ruing the company.

Pros – Good proceedures present in the management database. Collaborative work leading to synergy in efforts were encouraged. Client interaction was promoted.
Cons – Way too much gossiping and managemnet listening to opne side of the story only. Vert top down approach of leadership.
Advice to Senior Management – More senior managemnt efforts should be expended in staff morale boosing and development. More external courses should be approved by management.

Current Employee – been working at Foster Wheeler
Pros – The project design/engineering staff is well qualified, Some offices are well organized and managed by a well trained professional staff while others are sorely lacking.
Cons – Some office project management offices need a better understanding of project requirements and employee benefits. Overall experience at some offices is of a pressure cooker mentality with somewhat incompetent chefs.
Advice to Senior Management – Treat the employees with respect and meld family life into the office activities. Understand how to manage contracts and clients to benefit the company.

Current Employee – been working at Foster Wheeler
Pros – Quality from experience from different crafts coming together to do a project is as smooth as butter.
productivity from comittment is a powerful goal for the hard workers on site.
The respect that people give to one another for safety for us and our families.
The kindness of each other to at least be a some what family through the others of the day we got to spend together.
Cons – dont really hav a down , only because i worked for other companies before and never really had such a respect for any company such as this one.
Advice to Senior Management – maybe, the lack of communication when one is tryin to tell the reasons of missing work or maybe late. Being a female, and a mother, my responsibilty as a parent is kids first... their education their health, ect. dnt shut us out cuz were trying to explain.

Former Employee – worked at Foster Wheeler
Pros – nice bldg. and good location. Flex time Great. Catered lunches you can buy and a lounge was build.
Cons – a mens world there. some managers have never been managers and are promoted to rapidly into positions. Hard to get kudo's
Advice to Senior Management – To much mgmt. turnover. PM's need to be more involved on Projects and keep employees that are able & willing to communicate with Clients. The procurement dept. needs a make-over (no personality)

Former Employee – worked at Foster Wheeler
Pros – Foster Wheeler Civil Department has a tremendous group of people, a great department manager. For the most part employees seemed happy and very easy to work with. Do not get me wrong there are difficult people at Foster Wheeler, but they are the exception and not the rule.
Cons – Let me see.... you have a long walk from the parking garage to the bank of elevators that take you to you office.
Advice to Senior Management – After Troy Roder left it seems as if the Houston jobs left as well. I know there are a lot of proposals for new work that is not producing work the Houston office. Bring Troy back to Houston, please.
