Gardner Denver, Sedalia, MO, provides great opportunities to contribute to a production environment and gain experience.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Sedalia, MO (US)

I have been working at Gardner Denver full-time for more than 8 years

ProsThe people are reasonable. There are very few "difficult" people. Everyone that works hard, and keeps a cool head is honored and offered promotional opportunity as they arise.

ConsLocation. Although Sedalia has most of what anyone could need, people who like living in large cities might not be used to it.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work. Be sure to take notice of those whose work generally goes unnoticed. Small recognition goes a long way here. Empowering people to take charge of their responsibilities without micro management is a real strength here.

Could have been better.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Gardner Denver full-time for more than 3 years

ProsA good training ground to put to use in a future job with their competitors.

ConsLack of progressive career opportunities available for most. If you are favored, then the sky is the limit. Seem to take it personally when someone leaves - especially senior management. Lack support of the average worker to grow them to be better employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementFront line workers are your bread and butter. Treat them better. Don't continue to treat people as if they don't matter.

Good company to work for

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Tulsa, OK (US)

I worked at Gardner Denver

ProsGreat coworkers. The managers took an interest in their subordinates and everyone seemed to have an "open door" policy.

ConsNot a lot of lateral movement or chances to cross-train. For the most part, it felt that whatever position you were hired for would be the position you would remain in for the duration of your tenure.

Toxic political environment

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Gardner Denver full-time for more than 8 years

ProsGreat team of people, company with a long history of reliable products that is sinking because of corporate greed.

ConsEmployees are running away faster than rats from the sinking ship. Senior leadership and HR are trying to stop this but the trust is lost. Administrative overhead is increasing while HR service is reduced.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
