They should work more on process and please hire good Architect and before allocating any resource to any project do a proper functional and technical training . other wise after a time projects will get down

    Pros

You learn a lot about surviving in tough environment and office politics.

    Cons

Growth is not based on how you perform, but how you're rapport is with your immediate line manager and their managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Really listen to what employees working at the root level have to say. Don't just rely on views of your mid-management. Build some confidence and trust in root level employees about senior management.

I worked at Hays plc full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great bunch of people, everyone pulls together and shares the ups and the downs of working in recruitment. Good career progression if you meet targets.

Also - for a recruitment company - I was surprised at the attitude to office hours. Office hours are 8am-5.30pm, but that's not lip-service - as long as you're getting the work done, nobody bats an eyelid if you leave at 5.30pm on the spot. No expectation to stay longer to make it look like you're working hard. Office was normally practically empty by 6pm.

    Cons

While I was working there, the default non-financial reward for achievement was free alcohol. Great if you're in your 20s, got a little bit tedious as I was approaching my late 30s...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Use Hays' position and name in the market to do things differently - marketing, bus dev, lead generation etc.

I worked at Hays plc full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good training programmes and support for newer people into recruitment

    Cons

Not very good potential to earn decent money despite being in a sales environment
Very much a transaction based recruiter with no emphasis on relationships
Not a good place to join if you are an experienced recruiter because it is too restrictive and not that well respected as a senior/exec level recruiter
    High turnover of staff members

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better commission and basic pay for high performers would prevent such high turnover
Less restriction in terms of the geography you can work in
    Better reward for team management
Visibility to what non-fee earning managers actually do

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
