I have been working at Health Net full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

It's easy to get promoted here as long as you're smart and know what you're doing. It's also easy to take time off during the "slow" months and PTO hours accrue very quickly. The benefits are also great.

    Cons

There is an everchanging work environment, most likely due to ACA. It can be hard to keep up with all the changes if you're not good at adapting to it. Certain functions of Health Net will be "rebadged" under Cognizant.

    Pros

good place to work if you don't mine the corporate politics

    Cons

Too many executives making poor decisions and not considering the employees satisfaction. poor merit increase

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Health Net full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Solid pay, very generous benefits. 401k, tuition assistance, generous PTO accrual once you've been there for a while.

    Cons

Poor technology. Poor collaboration. Lots of individual heroics necessary. Bad relationship between IT and business areas leads many business areas to hire shadow IT staff under business titles. Not good for company or long term career prospects of these tech employees. Company is in a constant state of reaction. Everybody is a "firefighter"

I worked at Health Net full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Generous pay and good benefits. Very flexible work locations and rather flexible work from home options depending on Managers reporting to.

    Cons

Company is divided into silos and the mentality prevails in the teams to a huge extent. There is talk in higher management about talk of breaking the silos but haven't seen it in reality.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is a good company. A good change in the management in reducing team politics and turf wars and fostering an understanding that we are working for the benefit of the company is highly necessary.

    Neutral Outlook
