    Pros

    - Lot of opportunities for those who want to grow. Company invests in the professional (not just technically) growth of employees.
    - Lot if fun activities at work place including cultural events, technical fests and outings, its up to you how much you want to get involved, opportunities are countless.
    - Work from home option takes away a lot of stress. In general, the work hours can go up to 18 hours (extremely rare for me) or come down to 0 hours depending upon the project demand but the people and policies at GDC (India) are supportive.
    - Company has a lot of ways to appreciate the people who are putting in extra efforts.
    - Its a good place to learn and work on the latest technologies.

    Cons

    - Although its a good place to work on the latest technologies and progress in your career, for many people the aspiration is to go onsite. There were no onsite opportunities for the last couple of years but I guess there have been some good news for the onsite aspirants recently.
    - Don't expect frequent promotions.
    - Sometimes it feels like some undeserving people are ahead of you in the career path because of there age.
    - The company has a very good vision and values but not everyone (even at the mid management level) understands it completely.

    Advice to Management

    - Please work on the language and location barriers, this might improve the overall productivity which sometimes goes waste in unnecessary harsh, rude and weird emails.
    - Mid level management should understand that there job is a little more than just sending out emails. That is the only type of communication (one way) they have with the junior resources.

    Pros

    Good Policies, flexibility, you get comfortable very quickly,

    Cons

    No good projects, be aware of false promises.
    Please trust only what is written, no guarantee of verbal promises.
    Dont expect good quality of work if you are not in Hyd.

    Advice to Management

    I don't think they want to listen.

    Great work culture specially the GDC ( India )

    Organization does not have the flexibility for SMAC technology so cough in mix of technology change

    Pros

    Seen some scripted reviews posted by the Hitachi consulting management and felt it is my scared duty to post this blog which details my experience and observations about Hitachi consulting India, this exercise is taken up with an honest intent to put things in perspective which I guess will help people to make up their mind before taking any assignment with Hitachi Consulting India.

    Cons

    Senior and mid level management has a lots of inferiority complex which gives rise to aversion or intolerance to expertise, this allergy is especially towards associates who join them from tire 1 organizations(Capgemini,Accentures,IBM,TCS,Wipro etc) most of the senior staff have started their career in organization and lack skill or never bothered to upgrade themselves ,you will be surprised to see dumbness and stupidity being rewarded year after year post appraisal ,nothing is more frustrating than reporting to a manager who is dumb and incompetent.
    Firing is a regular phenomenon in Hitachi consulting India which happens all the year, No projects in the organization other than some oracle upgrade projects which will have a development time of 3 to 4 months, they hire people in anticipation of getting new projects instead of projects in hand, they never win any projects as they are out priced themselves vis-à-vis their competition, the head count is low as they have zero tolerance to bench and are not equipped to handle huge projects as they don’t have the pre requisites to qualify for the bids ,they don’t meets pre requisites like environmental policy ,don’t have business continuity plans in case of disaster and many other standards that are bare minimum requirements for qualifying for huge bids, they are late in the game by over 10 years to really scale up to the existing standards of their competition.
    It’s a staff augmentation company which sources bodies to the clients, any change in the business plan of the client, the employee sourced will be at risk being redundant, Hitachi India don’t have projects running in the organization to accommodate the employees which it has hired for the client. They have competencies like Microsoft COP, PeopleSoft COP ,SAP COP etc which will be headed by longest serving employee in the organization with no associates or will have couple of them working in each competencies , The company totally has 16 senior vice presidents ,almost same number of directors and many more senior manager and everyone who complete 5 years with Hitachi consulting India will be a manager(if he survives for such a long duration),In an organization of 1200 people you will see 100 people who are designated a manager, senior managers ,directors ,vice presidents and senior vice presidents ,in other words the organization has accumulated a pool of non performing junk, I call them revenue guzzlers.
    The senior staff has detached themselves from the onus of getting new business and outsources the task to their American bosses ,management in Hitachi consulting India showcased themselves as low cost development center , I am surprise as to why the American bosses and their Japanese boss have not asked themselves as to why they need so many revenue guzzlers( senior and mid level manager) to take care of low cost delivery center based out of India. The latest development is that top management has realigned themselves into business verticals ,nothing can be more amusing to see a staff augmentation company re organizing itself into business verticals, my reading is this exercise is taken up to accommodate the senior long time serving employees.

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of the revenue guzzlers in your offshore center to improve your EBITDA ,the improvements will to to the tune of 10 to 15% to that of the existent margins.

    no projects and no work.

    Don't join into a gloom called Hitachi consulting India and invite the possible doom in your career,this is more applicable to laterals who are working for top notch IT companies based out of Inda/USA ,the empty seats in the company reflects the hollowness in the company,shallowness in the vision and policy of the top management and empty promise it holds for the employees,the company has no projects and for reasons unknown they keep recruiting associates by giving fat hikes in anticipation of getting new projects.The basic flaw in Hitachi consulting India is that it fails to understand that every tender that it addresses will realize into a a prospective purchase order and recruit people on bases of tender it addresses(which they call pipeline) rather than PO in hand ,very rarely they get projects on oracle upgrades primarily from middle east region , Which are short term and they dont have long term implementation projects or production support maintenance in the company.Once the upgrade projects are completed the associates will be on bench with no prospects of getting allocated to new project as they don't have projects.you will hear constant floor talk that the company is about to fire associates.

    The sickness in the company is inherited from legacy company Hitachi consulting India acquired sierra Atlanta . The senior management indulges in cheapness by arranging fake interviews just to understand the processes and procedures followed in the top IT companies and with an intent to smarten up the processes in Hitachi consulting India , after an telephonic interview of 30 minutes to 60 minutes and making the associate talk ,no offer is released, Hitachi consulting India or USA doesn't have capabilities to handle huge bids not have the abilities to handle huge projects ,the associates from top notch companies are fooled as they are made to talk in interviews which are fake as they reveal the best practices followed in their organization to the interviewer from Hitachi consulting India.

    Advice to Management

    the top management in Hitachi consulting India is incompetent and get rid of it before it is too late.

    Good and Friendly people. Decent work life balance with good leave option

    Cons

    there is no Job Security. Firing can be happened at any time.

    - Challenging projects...which will enlarge your learnings and know-how

    Always remember "No place is a perfect place"
