Current Employee – been working at Honeywell ACS full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – I honestly cannot think of a single positive this to say about the Honeywell of today.
It has not always been this way, they were once a good employer but those days are long gone.
Cons – Bad culture and corrupt management.
Outsourcing work to get the cheapest outcome at the expense of quality.
No respect for experience and expertise in Engineering, this is reflected in the retention rates which are deplorable. Most new engineers stay no longer than 6 months, this pretty much sums it up, people vote with their feet.
Low salary and benefits compared to elsewhere.
Bonus system is not worth the paper it is written on.
Full of promises but short on delivery.
Money driven and constantly moving the goal posts to make them more and more out of reach.
Advice to Senior Management – Leave

Former Employee – worked at Honeywell ACS full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Talented people, strong executive leadership, financially stable, well positioned products and services, key global supplier to commercial and military
Outplacement service (Right Management) does a good job supporting post severance needs.
Cons – Don't expect to retire from Honeywell.
If you are in a "terminal" location like I was the downsizing is pretty relentless. If you are in a growth location there is plenty of opportunity.
Exit process is cold and isolating.
Advice to Senior Management – There are two key aspects of making a sale ... how you open and how you close. I'd find a better way to close out someone's career than a tap on the shoulder and a walk to the parking lot without talking to anyone.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Honeywell ACS full-time
Pros – They offer major medical and dental insurance
37% 401k match
Life Insurance
O.K. wage
Cons – Insurance coverage isn't very good
Pay is stagnated
No room for advancement in HPS
Lay offs are always looming due to contracts needing to be renewed annually or bi-anually
Advice to Senior Management – The employees are the driver for the organization, but with upper level management compensation in the form of stock options, being based on stock prices, there is a huge disconnect when it comes to taking care of the workers. Unfortunately, most public companies work in this fashion. This disconnect results in management cutting benefits, and stagnating wages to achieve a higher profit margin. The company has done well financially as a whole, but only the upper eschelon and stock holders have reaped the significant rewards. If you want to maintain success, you have to give back to those who helped establish it. Honeywell isn't the company it used to be. No longer is it a desirable company to work for and stay with for an entire career. Now, it's just a job.
