    Pros

Opportunity for growth, good pay, diverse community and passengers to converse with.

    Cons

The management really doesn't give a hoot about the employees or their feelings. They solely care about running the business. Period.

    Advice to Management

Don't be condescending to your employees or fake. Treat them with respect and not like you're still in high school.

    Pros

The job in itself is not hard. It's general retail work, whether you're in a coffee shop or a gift shop.

    Cons

Dealing with customers in any retail position can be a challenge. Coworkers were sometimes hard to deal with, and I was stuck covering their hours too often.

    Advice to Management

Take into consideration what's best for the employees a little more. I loved my manager loads, but I didn't always feel appreciated.

  6. Helpful (1)

A good job if you just want to come to work, put it your time, and go home.

    Pros

Enjoyable to engage with customers who appreciate good service.

    Cons

Support by regional and corporate management is abysmal. There is no culture unless 'cya' is considered culture. There are great people at the store levels that are consistently ignored and overlooked.

    Advice to Management

Say hi to your associates when you enter a store. Please watch Undercover Boss again and pay attention.

  7. This is a good company its just the people that work for this company that make people not wanna work for it..

    Pros

I get to work with books.

    Cons

A shiny glass ceiling, almost zero potential for upward growth and a complete disregard for the integrity of the employees. The slow destruction of bookstores as transitioned into news stands.

    Advice to Management

Remember that happy booksellers sell more books. Stop overloading middle management: dissatisfaction and overworking trickles down.
