Pros – For the most part - you'll work with a lot of great people with good work ethics. Onboard training above average compared to other companies.Generally speaking the associates want to take care of the members to the best of their ability.
Cons – Long work hours; Broken promises; No appreciation for employees who work hard; Unreasonable work loads; Redundancy is the norm - not the exception; Lack of qualified - caring - knowledgeable middle management (managers/directors).
Medical benefits for employees are below average in compensation and out-of-pocket cost a fortune compared to that of our competitors.
PTO time has to be earned before getting to use it (IE. Do not get your 2 weeks up front to use how you like through out the year) and you don't earn a full 8 hours each time but they take a full 8 hours away and you can't just take increments of PTO (IE. 2, 3, 4 hours / half day - gone for a 3 hour appt. - must take full day PTO)
Advice to Senior Management – Communicate............before implementing new processes by ask the "worker bees" how the jobe is done or should be done; Appreciate the talent you have working under you - they actual will drive and determine how successful Humana is or will be!

Former Employee – worked at Humana full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – The pros of working at Humana is the pay. I was a Telesales agent for insurance such as Medicare, individual dental/vision. If the people in management like you you'll have more opportunity to make money but if they don't you could get lousy assignments like Outbound calling.
Cons – You don't always get the commission you earned. Money gets lost and you have to request an audit of your sales. And even then no one gets back to you. You get ignored and you know you were underpaid. The management is secretive and dishonest about commissions and how money gets lost. Upper management knows more than they'll reveal..They are loyal to one another & $$$.
Advice to Senior Management – My advice to mgmnt is to be honest and people should get pd what the earned without hassle. The management should rotate assignments more so the everyone gets access to the money making calls cause some commission trickles down. And to humble yourselves, too much arrogant pride.
