Cons – After 2 years of experience I can't tell any big cons. I am very happy at the moment.

Current Employee – been working at IBM full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Big Blue Brand, Company invests in employees training, work/life balance etc
Cons – Matrix structure can be frustrating sometimes. New business model pushes wages down upto 40% compared to market value in some places, to compete more profitably with offshore in the services business. But then customers want low rates, so that drives wages. This problem however is not unique to IBM. All large services businesses such as Accenture and HP have this problem.
Advice to Senior Management – Great work at your level, keep the momentum going. While labor is plentiful. please remember good people are your most important assets.

Pros – Exciting work, great resources, and a company that is continuing to grow and innovate.
Cons – Complex organization, hard to get large teams to cooperate. You are just a number
Advice to Senior Management – Remember to treat people as people, not just a serial number.

Current Employee – been working at IBM part-time for more than a year
Pros – Education is open to everyone, you just have to be the one to plan it out and do it. No one will guide you as in smaller companies.
Cons – Mentors are hard to find. They are out there, but because the company runs on office politics, they are all busy finding their own future directions.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't forget employees in the minor countries. Their impressions count!

Former Employee – worked at IBM
Pros – Smart people, strong management, and a stable job. Pretty good compensation and work/life balance. Great for starting a family.
Cons – Antiquated business, people who only want to work from 9 until 5. No sense of urgency like there is at the hot Silicon Valley startups.
Advice to Senior Management – Create a more startup-like atmosphere, encourage employees to take more risks. But otherwise, the company is pretty great to work for!
