I have been working at IMS Health full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

You will gain good knowledge about Data and Data Analytics. Good exposure on Healthcare domain. If you are part of IT services, then you will learn how to deal with bad managers and politics ;)

IMS IT has two wings, IT Services and Product Development, Product Development team has wonderful Head (Director) and he encourages good work-life balance. I was surprised to see his team having Foosball, carrom and other time-off fun activities where as other business units not having.

Salary is above average to good compared to other companies.

    Cons

IT services is full of bad politics (remember, Ramesh & Suresh ad by cadburrys 5 star. You will end up dealing with similar people ),. If head is not proper then you can't expect the tail to be good. So reject the offer if it is for IT Services.

Production support business unit is equally bad and in fact, has more number of people leaving the job.

People at bangalore are leaving this company in big numbers. Most of the people are quitting because of bad politics and zero personal growth.

HR team is OKEY and still need to improve making employees happy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Review Bangalore Leadership team's capabilities. You need to have leaders at top level not managers.

    Two different approaches

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at IMS Health

    Pros

Good scope of learning the technologies and work with different teams together.

    Cons

Two main sections are present IT Services and Dev, IT Services are difficult place to work as there is lot of politics within themselves and managers interference at every point. Dev has good work culture under different leadership qualities and respect to everybody's work and culture is given.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

IT Services management talk about every employee's credibility/actions secretly within their bosses by pinging or chat, its not the right way. There is a manner in the way a certain thing is shared about an employee to your boss but not rediculing employee's ethics. You need to learn from Dev leadership.

    Pros

Some projects are good. If you get into any maintenance or support projects with good timelines then you are saved else its going to be hell.

    Cons

Dont know how to execute projects.
Individuals are not up to date with technology.
Basically its not a technology company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    NONE.
As no one will hear out what you have to say.

I have been working at IMS Health full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    1. Didnt work over weekend .
    2. Managers are real fools so easily play with them on daily basis .

    Cons

    1. Management does not give employee care any importance . This can be validated by the Printer of 6th floor or the quality of bags / jacket being distributed to employees . Current employees can empathise over this .
    2. No hold on anything , be it the Admin or Tech Support or Daily Maintenance activities . It's being operated like a Govt Office or even worse . This is the worst Tech Support group I have ever seen with no SLA/ETR for tickets and follow ups are done on their own wish .
    3. Managers are puppets of mid level managment and have no say over appraisals or decision making .
    4. No one listen to employee queries . Town Hall is conducted every month but the issues raised are never rectified .
    5. Technical Architects are being made managers and hence we are losing our tech guys also .
    6. Escalations of managers result in the change in hierarchy and no efforts to train or rectify them .
    7. The HR dept is even worse where the HR neither listen to your queries nor show any interest in solving them .
    8. Too much politics within team and across managers . Managers fight for petty issues like Seats and talking over VOIP .
    9. No concept of sending meeting invitees or MOM after discussions .
    10. No focus on training employees on technology or process .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1. Listen to employee queries and at least show you are interested in solving them .
    2. Monitor the GSD and make sure tickets are moved as per the severity and SLA .
    3. Train HR to handle employee queries behave professionally in crisis or severities .
    4. Encourage written documentation and mail culture than verba talks .
    5. Provide small small basic amenities like "Working printer" , replace plastic glass with Paper cups , good quality of stationery .
    6. Stop treating employees as replaceable assets and bring the concept of bench to avoid employee getting frustrated to leave job .

    Pros

Good to have joined IMS Health Global Delivery Center while it is still in its growing phase.
The company organized an initial training of 15 days which introduced the length and breadth about the organizations core data assets and various Centres of Excellance. With this it made clear of what work is being carried out and how I as an individual shall contribute.
The best part about the company is recruiting resources that are best fit for the purpose they would serve.
The company has good growth prospects and enables an individual with requisite resources for personal as well as collective growth. Various cross trainings are held as and when required.

    Cons

Offsites for employees should be held for a better work life balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It should work to make the organization more process oriented
