Excellent Employer!

Associate Level IV (Former Employee)

I worked at In-N-Out Burger full-time for more than 8 years

ProsFamily-like atmosphere. Teaches communication, teamwork, and good work ethic. Fabulous benefits for full time employees and competitive salary for all employees.

ConsYou need to be available with a flexible schedule. Some holidays are given off, but not all. Weekends are often required.

FAST PACED

Level IV (Former Employee)

I worked at In-N-Out Burger part-time

ProsThe relationships you build with the customers are amazing. Sometimes the customers end up being "usuals" and then friends.

ConsYou gotta put up with other loud mouthed coworkers. Overtime and closing sucks, because there is always a line to the street. You will go home exhausted at 3 a.m or 4 a.m and maybe expected to work the next morning.

Advice to Senior ManagementQuit picking favorites.

Amazing Company

Level IV (Former Employee)

I worked at In-N-Out Burger part-time for more than a year

ProsIn-N-Out was my very first job at 17 and it was a great experience. I started at 10 an hour and management advanced me quickly. The actual store manager was great and funny. Worked well with my school schedule. Free meal every shift. We got christmas presents every year from corporate and gift cards for doing a good job. Received a lot of recognition. The company genuinely cares for your well being. There were basketball and softball tournaments which were soooo fun. Left making 11.50 an hour.

ConsA lot of coworkers liked to stir up drama, I have seen a lot of crying there because of it. A lot of secrets and back stabbing. 2nd,3rd,4th managers are a joke and pick favorites and would get mad if you didn't want to cover someone else's shift. Younger managers power trip when older mangers weren't around. Very stressful and always had to be on top of it (which isn't a con, just a fact). Fairly high turnover rate, at least for my store.

Fun and some nice perks but low quality of life

Shiftperson (Current Employee)

I have been working at In-N-Out Burger full-time for more than 10 years

ProsIt's a fast paced environment, especially in high volume stores and time goes by quickly. They offer fun activities and perks like company picnics and events.

Cons"Work/life balance" is a foreign concept. You're expected to be available for work at a moments notice and to put it before everything else, including family or other obligations.

ProsAt In-N-Out your coworkers are fun and enjoyable people to be around and the team is usually led by a competent manager. The training for each position is extensive and allows for proper promotions and pay increases. The pay is very good for the work being performed.

ConsSome managers are not as good at running shifts as others and can make working difficult. Dealing with customer service can be frustrating at times.
