I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Cutting edge technology, quite good salary, flexibility at work, like the concept of "own your employability", management sensitive to problems of women with families and allows a lot of flexibility. Overall the workplace environment is very good. Friendly and approachable management. For some one who wants to learn, there are no limits. Job rotation is quite common and encouraged.

    Cons

Too much work, shrinking deadlines, difficulty in work-life balance, too many reorgs, middle level management is not technical in many cases, doesnt sometimes understand the problems and incompetancy at the middle level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lot of overlapping roles in middle management. I reported to at least 3 people Too much cross-site work and hence meetings at weird times. 12 hour work days have been common during the last year.

I have been working at Intel Corporation as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

You will get to learn new technologies.
    Very Friendly Co-workers
    Nice Work Culture.
Very good for permanent people with good benefits and life - work balance.

    Cons

    Pathetic for contractors.
No respect. Pay less for cw.
No benefits, No invitation for Company's annual function, event or any program ,team outing or team lunch organised by a company for Contractors.
Sometimes not even included for project meeting with client and upper management though you work in the same team and project.
They separate CWs and Permanent employees on the basis on Badges.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should think about Contractors or don't hire people from other company and dis-respect them.
