    Pros

    Solid company financially, dependable paycheck.

    Cons

Most openings are lateral moves and some bosses like to strong arm employees into not leaving their team.

    Advice to Management

Treat company employees like you treat the drivers when there are open trucks to fill.

    Pros

    at least the paycheck cashes

    Cons

Truck division continues to downsize management roles. Really bad about giving people 30 days to find a job every March for the past 3 years. Has gotten rid of management that cares and replaced with "Yes" people. Would rather play loud music and throw footballs around the office instead of working.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to stop running off their talented employees. They're losing them daily and replacing with inexperience and it shows in profitability in truck and ics divisions.

  7. Responsibilities included new revenue generation as well as maintaining all existing business relationships.

    Pros

Company well known & provides access to lots of opportunities.

    Cons

Difficult pricing model which makes it difficult to gain sizable awards of new business.

    Advice to Management

Too much administrative work required. Need to focus on being more efficient in all aspects of the business. Improve customer service.

  8. Definitely better than most trucking companies

    Pros

The pay is good even when it's slow. Easy to make $1000/week for a 5 day work week. You keep an activity sheet and you calculate your pay at the end of everyday. it averages $220/day if you're willing to put in 12 hours a day. Management is good. Definitely a friendly atmosphere. Really lenient on changing shifts or needing days off. Generally a good company to work for if you're a decent, hard worker.

    Cons

Benefits are very expensive. They assign you a truck but you share it and sometimes they aren't done with their shift when it's time for yours so you have to walk the terminal searching for a loaner for the day (doesn't sound bad but it's annoying when you're in a hurry), you WILL start offun graveyard. Everything JB Hunt does is based off seniority so all the good shifts go to the drivers who have been there for years. I've met people that have been there for 5 years and are still on the graveyard Shift. The seniority thing also gets annoying because if you request a day off a couple weeks in advance but if someone who has been there longer than you requests the same day they won't give it to you. LONG HOURS TO MAKE GOOD MONEY. 14 hours a day is not uncommon to make $ 200.

    Advice to Management

Petter pay packages so we don't have to burn ourselves out working 12-14 hours a day. Cheaper benefits would be nice too $160/week for a family is outrageous.

    Pros

Good company, with talented leadership. Leader within the transportation industry especially the Intermodal segment. Company will continue to be a top performer due to unique relationship with railroad.

    Cons

Not much mobility, modest to low pay. Easy to get comfortable and stay too long in one job. Time off is decent however you don't get 4 weeks until after 15 years. Training is limited and moving within the company can be difficult depending on your experience.

    Advice to Management

Consider increasing pay and time off or work from home alternatives that give employees more flexibility in todays work environment. The biggest complaint employees have is lack of transparency, low pay, and poor communication between groups. Helping employees find their career path and providing opportunities to train to meet those goals is equally important.

    Pros

The scheduling is up to the individual and how much they want to work.

    Cons

Magen starting out at Jb hunt you work on weekends more than anything,

    Advice to Management

Hire more dispatchers for the intermodal fleet and open up more rotatable shifts for weekends off, ALSO ADD BETTER EQUIPMENT AND RAISE PAY!!!
