Former Employee - Trainee in Delhi

    Pros

Unlimited learning potential as projects are extremely diverse. Opportunities to work with different managers on different projects. Good for traveling and doing primary research

    Cons

Hours can become lengthy, although that seems to be generic across consulting firms. Senior staff could treat their juniors with a little more respect and warmth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Generally the work culture was great, only thing I would say is there isn't any harm in being a bit friendly with those less senior than you.

KPMG GLOBAL SERVICES = Extremely slow growth. Trending towards becoming a full time BPO.

    • Career Opportunities
Current Employee - Consultant  in  Gurgaon, Haryana
Current Employee - Consultant in Gurgaon, Haryana

    Pros

Convenience of cabs, good cafetaria and hygienic work environment

    Cons

People looking to leverage their technical skills should not apply. KGS is essentially a KPO where the key offering is extended teams working on 'not so important' assignments - which is exactly what a KPO has to offer. Politics - yes (both at lower and higher levels); Extremely little communication with senior management; Sycophancy prevails; Extremely limited onsite opportunities; Low bonuses; Meagre increments; Appraisals are entirely perception and opinion driven and have nothing to do with your performance; Too much focus on employee movements and increasingly becoming a micro-managed place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too much reliance is placed in the hands of senior consultants who are at times highly immature and extremely biased. Decentralisation is okay but Management should not completely rely on opinions of people who get to interact more basis their designations. There are more competent employees beneath them who are curbed and not allowed to grow as they are seen as threat to people holding vintage and higher designations.
