I worked at Liberty Global full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Compensations, benefits package, nice SR campus.

    Cons

Management is awful. Departments fight each other, departments are lead by incompetent specialists, that are "managers" enough to forget and check reality. A lot of money is being thrown on solutions, that are then dropped. Development directions shift twice a day. Environment is unstable - U can forget about personal growth. Many ppl spend 10 years being NOC engineers without any progress whatsoever. Software cycle is being raped on daily basis, leading to low efficiency, which is being covered by managers. Leading idea in company - "If U don't want to do something - propose something else or go to a meeting". Be careful signing contract - may contain hidden clauses, that can be found in Dutch laws.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Guys, wake up - U are loosing thousands of Euros, ppl come and go, there is no core in company. U have to stop buying companies and create chaos over chaos.

Free coffee, fruit day, discounts on UPC products, small gift for Christmas, events organised regularly to build our network in the company.

    Cons

Conflicts of priorities between departments. Very stressful exigences of the management.

    Pros

On the beginning is very good company, but after 2014 when they did re-organization everything became worst worst and worst. They dismiss all working contract of the employee, it doesn't matter you already work here in 10 years or more. I believed the situation for the employee is nightmare now, the company can easy dismiss your contract in tomorrow with any reason up to them, it doesn't matter you have good performance.

    Cons

Company still do re-organization and badly for the employee. Every day just waiting when he/her around to get the letter for dismiss the contract. Work load can very heavy at this time. There are many 'special projects' with no plan.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please more humanity and loyal to the employee.
Please think about employee loyalty and their family.
    Don't be arrogant.

    Pros

LG provides competitive slaries and benefits, there are opportunities for training and leadership assignments. Work is interesting, the company expands its activities contuniously and there are lots of M&A activities. there are many events during the year where colleagues can come together and do fun things together. (summer and Christmas parties, new year's receptions etc.)

    Cons

The company's increasing size makes communication between departments less efficient, there is space for potential improvement regarding people managemement, the work culture is a bit controlling.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Less controlling, more focus on people management and soft skills, improve communication channels.

    Pros

Upon arrival you understand that everything has been thought off in terms of making sure the employee feels at home and comfortable. A great work environement where everyone is very helpful and where management supports you and also trust that you will do the job to the best of your ability.
Amazing location, amazing offices, great people and fantasit career opportunities.

    Cons

With the legacy of being a traditional M&A growth orientated business, the company could do with some improvement in terms of systems and admin but having reached a certain business maturity, LG is currently working towards a more strategic alignement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Consolidates and communicates the Liberty Global Values.
    - GIve exposure to who's doind what within the company, job shadowing to understand the different priorities.
    - Accentuate external PR communications to drive organisational pride

I worked at Liberty Global full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great technology, some excellent technical people. Good senior management in Europe and US. Good salary for staff with responsibility.

    Cons

Too much politics and too many mediocre mid level managers (managers and directors). The company could remove a layer of managers only eager to show off instead of driving the company vision. Too little room for career growth, unless you are friend of someone higher in the hierarchy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Worth checking the benefits of introducing meritocracy into the company.
