I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Lockheed has many opportunities for different types of work. If you've got the ability then they will have opportunities to work. Most positions have a very flexible work schedules. For being a large corporation they try to make sure employees feel valued.

Available work within Lockheed core locations are plenty

    Cons

It's still a corporation and employees can easily fall through the cracks if they work outside of LM facilities.
Available Work outside of Lockheed core locations are sparse.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin as a contractor (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I have one of the best bosses I have ever worked for. The pay is good for the job I perform. They offer upward mobility for personnel as positions open.

    Cons

The only Con I have is the timecard system, it is not user friendly and hard to enter corrections. There aren't any other cons that I can think of.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people, great insurance, lots of opportunities for growth and experience

    Cons

Very little training, mostly on-the-job training

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to provide more formal training for new hires

I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Work Life Balance has good days and bad days. Depending on your team it can be good. Good benefit packages. 401K matching is good. Plenty of areas to grow.

    Cons

Too much bureaucracy. Hard to gain technical experience as a young employee when half your work is merely to satisfy process. Get in a bad group, you will be miserable. Culture encourages mid-level leadership to hide failures because help provided is too much.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Streamline tools to actually help lighten work load. Make metrics collection automated across the board.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good Pay, Frequent Raises, Good Benefits, Easy Work, No Pressure, Union, Upper Management.

    Cons

Being forced to stay over based on seniority with the union, agonizingly slow and inefficient process, no one wants to improve the process because "It's always been that way", Lower management only cares about appeasing their superiors and not taking care of their employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to who you put in charge, they can make or break a team.

    I worked at Lockheed Martin

    Pros

Work at a GSU of Lockheed in Texas. Great management support within the program. Management lets you do your job with little interference as long as the customer is happy and operations are compliant with the government and its contract.

    Cons

Military biased company. Former enlisted military members stand little chance of upward mobility even if their education and experience is the same.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have very capable base line workers who deserve a chance to move up. Set up a REAL mentoring program that shows your commitment as they showed to Lockheed.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great life/work balance. Not strict on what time people show up, as long as they are there for the "core hours". These are from 9am-3pm. Get to see aircraft take off, land, and I support the control room for missions.

    Cons

Promotions come every so often. They say budget is an issue. Edwards AFB is pretty far from a lot of people. I wish they would help out with gas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Faster promotions.

I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

They offer competitive salary and have great benefits. They also understand the value of work/life balance and really care about their employees.

    Cons

With being such a large company it can sometimes take longer to advance through the ranks as compared to some smaller companies.
