Current Employee – been working at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center full-time
Pros – It's hard not to be proud of working for an institution working to "Make Cancer History" and most employees are happy to be here....however (see the "Cons" section).
Cons – Negative news about the new president, his wife and the appearance of shady financial issues (grant application mess, pres recommended stock for his company on TV, etc.) is damaging morale. Overall, it's still a good place to work with employer-paid benefits, decent pay and growth opportunities.
Advice to Senior Management – Straighten up and fly right, own up to judgment errors, apologize and don't ever, ever, ever hire a husband and wife "team" for such powerful positions.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center full-time for more than a year
Pros – I could work on hi-fi research at a faster pace. Work on several projects at the same time. The first year was very good.
Cons – Despite MD Anderson being the best place to work, My professor was showed no encouragement and appreciation for the efforts. Also the friday group meetings are a nightmare. There was also personal bias and racial discrimination involved. Your job satisfaction fell so bad lots of times - I believe this totally depends on who your mentor is.
However, MD anderson as a whole is the best place to be employed
Advice to Senior Management – Monitor the Professor and his/her interaction with lab research people more closely.

Pros – Great advisors, awesome facilities, good professional development, in downtown Houston, Texas!
Cons – The climate in Houston is very hot. There is often traffic as well going from work to home if you live outside of downtown.
Advice to Senior Management – You are doing a great job. More events geared toward younger researchers, scientists, and professionals would do wonders for the social climate.
