I have been working at MD Anderson Cancer Center full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Pros include the ability for growth within the company and the benefits were great! Plus there is a gym that employees can use that is free of charge!

    Cons

I hated paying for parking, that was my biggest issue. Also certain supervisors/managers do not want to see you grow so don't expect a hand out!

I worked at MD Anderson Cancer Center full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Company values, work-life balance, great core facilities, access to leaders in the field, access to numerous research institutes, access to patient samples, constant opportunities for seminars and training events, free gym, people in Houston are friendly.

    Cons

Compensation, but I was a lowly GRA then postdoc so I can't really judge this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay postdocs more! But that goes out to NIH more than MD Anderson.

I have been working at MD Anderson Cancer Center

    Pros

great benefits and that's about it.

    Cons

I have to walk outside from the garage to my building and we are not allowed to use their shuttle unless we are using it to attend a work meeting from one place to another. It's hard to walk a long distance outside when it's pouring rain and when it is freezing temperatures outside.
my job is boring. no one else in the department wants to do it even though they all can. Lot of lazy people here in this department. certain people can leave early everyday but i stay late on most occasions which is causing me to look for other jobs currently.
i don't feel like this is true research. we sway patients into signing a certain way…the way the doctor wants us. i will be writing the IRB soon.
    bad cafeteria food.
walking from one building to another is a very long distance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

make sure all employees are treated fairly. have shuttle accommodations for everyone.
