    Pros

Solid Company, Great Benefits, Option to work from home.

    Cons

No advancement, Poor management, Not organized. Constant shuffle of employees, Hiring managers expect the impossible from you everything gets thrown to your desk.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have to discuss the future, too many emails and conferences when it has nothing to do with the individuals duties.

I have been working at Manulife Financial

    Pros

Manulife offers a good work environment, good benefits, and competitive pay. It depends on the area or team you work with, but generally people are eager to help when asked.

    Cons

Under-staffed, too much change in a short period of time. Organization between teams can be improved. Reporting time = long hours.

I have been working at Manulife Financial full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Solid growth in Asia with a keen eye on ethics and compliance in the workplace. Not many perks but what company does have them nowadays? Yearly bonuses paid for past 10 years.

    Cons

Bureaucracy, red tape, project management stagnates, IT is decrepid and Help Desk is not helpful. New employees are frustrated at the slow onboarding pace.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Health benefits cannot continue to be reduced. Although there is a goal to meet for shareholders, employees cannot be the ones who suffer as a result. Key decision makers need training to identify key contributors and develop ways to retain the right people. Promote from within.

I worked at Manulife Financial full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Stable company and profitable company.

    Cons

Worst middle managers! They are not well educated especially when it comes to insurance licensing. No insurance background at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest more on your management and when hiring make sure they are qualified and knowledgeable to train the sales people.

Terrible Management and support for staff

    I worked at Manulife Financial

    Pros

Good benefits and some great people that can make the experience better. Big company with a lot of different areas to move to in finance.

    Cons

'Just do what was done last year' mentality and some management avoid answering questions this way because they don't know the answers to questions. Top Management is a boys club. Middle managers aren't supportive of staff and only look out for themselves.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start taking care of your employees and get rid of the middle management that have no education and have been in the role for 20 years. Not encouraging to staff to move up when managers never leave because they have no education and paid so well. Provide more communication to staff from a higher level so people feel informed and are kept in the loop.

I worked at Manulife Financial as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

My manager was super nice and helpful and all of my coworkers were very supportive. They love to bring interns into some real projects and help them to develop their own skill set. Sometimes, they even hand you a new model to build up from scratch, which is challenging but fun.

    Cons

Since the company is a pretty big organization so that you won't get exposure to all aspects through your work term, and it would be better they give interns a business unit position.

  10.

Overall a good learning experience with a reputable firm.

I have been working at Manulife Financial as an intern

    Pros

    Pros include:
    - Great atmosphere / work environment
    - good work / life balance
    - No real training, more of 'in the job'

    Cons

Compensation was average / industry norm for the most part. No real perks.
I felt as if promotions were random and given based on people leaving rather than you actually deserved it.

  11.

    Large, conservative and cold company
