    Pros

    It was an excellent experience working for marriott, they taught me the core values of hospitality

    Cons

    they definitely need to update their computer systems/software. Everyone knows it too. I understand the costs are high but one day well have to do it eventually so why not now?

    Advice to Management

    keep doing what you're doing. the JW in DTLA is one of my favorites in the country. I love the employee discounts on rooms

    Pros

    The associates working alongside myself have always been good workers and enjoyable to be around. The work environment is professional and comfortable.

    Cons

    Hotels are open 24 hours, and therefore operations positions can have varied hours.

    Have experienced long hours with very little break in serving positions on property.

    Pros

    Nice hours and the people are great to work with. The employees from other departments and in your department do really care about you and always are wanting you to succeed in everything you do. Even when I make mistakes they correct me nicely without cursing and or screaming. They pay for my alterations for uniforms and paid for me to get blouses for my job from Kohls. The general manager informs us abut goals and where we are at, and has high standards for us and the hotel. I will be getting a pay raise after my three month, then 6 month, and year raise after that. Its not really stressful or a horrible job since I meet so many business men/ women. They are all nice and come in and out quickly, so you do have to be able to connect with guests and help them. I also love going out of my way to help and assist a guest with their needs in anyway possible. It makes me feel empowered and I can actually do something good for other people. Also since my hotel is franchised through Winegarner and Hammons, I get benefits from the Marriott brand as well the franchisee.

    None, I am very impressed by this company.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you are doing. I am very happy and content with this company, and the benefits I am getting.

    Pros

    Very good medical and dental benefits, depending on the tier of Marriott hotel and location you work for. When jobs are posted, the pay is public so there is no unfair pay scale within the department. There is opportunity to advance. Hotel discounts are good as well for personal travel.

    Cons

    When they hire a new batch of management, the newbies tend to not help out as much, or at all at the front desk, where our previous management would help with long lines and meal breaks. The new management tends to sit in their offices and chat with other managers. They try to reinvent the wheel to gain notoriety, but things were working better before.

    Advice to Management

    Don't stand behind a manager or process that feels wrong. Ask the associates, who work the front lines what they think before implementing new SOP.

    Pros

    I loved the work making sure the customers were happy and if they were not I found a solution to make them happy.

    Cons

    Didn't celebrate the employees enough.

    Advice to Management

    Take the time to get to know your employees and celebrate them more.

    1 tip post there names for all to see and put a happy face and thank you from management to the associate thanks for all you do.

    Great company to work for , benefits, salary, employees and management are awrsome. Not to complain about
