    Very hard work

ASIC Design Engineer (Current Employee) Santa Clara, CA (US)

ProsCompetitive salary and benefits are not bad, although they could be improved. Every designer had good chances to learn and to deploy new design techniques.
    Training are offered regularly.

ConsTime for completing a design is becoming shorter and shorter and sometime to get these targets the work is becoming very hard. Quality of results are lower than expected.
    Few career advancement opportunities.

OK in general. But it depends on which division you are in.

Director (Current Employee) Santa Clara, CA (US)

ProsFlexible hours, friendly and cooperative culture, on-site gym, access to almost any type of advance industrial tools.

ConsStressful environment, schedule and decisions were made top-down, with little input from even mid-level management. Project execution also have much room to improve.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe realistic on scheduling with available resources.

    Great place to innovate

Director (Former Employee) Santa Clara, CA (US)

ProsEverything is open to rethinking and redoing...plenty of opportunities to contribute and get creative.

ConsThe culture is much different than the typical silicon valley employer. There also appeared to be a layer of unproductive politics in the G&A organization.

Advice to Senior ManagementLook for opportunities to build trust between management layers. Find trustworthy leaders and shovel more responsibility in their direction.

    Crazy and stupid top management

Director (Current Employee) Santa Clara, CA (US)

ProsNice and cheap breakfast, lunch and dinner provided.

ConsPoor job security. Top management has no idea what they're doing.

Advice to Senior ManagementUnless for storage, this is a terrible company.

    Bad company, but stable job

Senior Staff Design Engineer (Current Employee) Santa Clara, CA (US)

ProsNice cafetaria and gym. And if you work in established group (not in speculative group working on product with no customers), then it's a very safe house. You will find worst engineer in your life in this group but somehow always survive and keeps working at Marvell for many years.

ConsNo transparency from management. In a recent case, the bonus was small because management said that company's target was not met. However, the management also said that they don't know what the target was. And promotion seems to be random. Some average-performing people got promoted, and some good-performing people just don't get promoted.
In conclusion, only work here as your last choice or you're lazy to move to other company.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe company's management is so bad that any advice to management is of no use.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
