    Pros

Great global footprint. No 2 or 3 in world size wise. Great people. Good Coffee.

    Cons

Cutbacks, layoffs, senior management do not seem to be able to effectively manage the global organization. it is a very miserable place to be with limited benefits, pay increases, little to no bonus, no share options paid out in past 3 years. Very troubled company

    Advice to Management

Recognize where you are out of your depth and move on.. Bring in new leadership team with the ability to turn the business around

    Pros

    - Work-Life Balance - opportunity to work from home, as appropriate
    - Business Process Improvement focus - many global projects, with opportunity to work directly on change management initiatives
    - Personal Growth - opportunities for advancement, if you perform well
    - Benefits - Great improvement in total Benefits package this year (2015) - inexpensive medical premiums, with a lower deductible than last year; 4 weeks for vacation/sick/personal; 10 paid holidays; nice company 401k match - definitely stronger than 2014!
    - Communication - New employee intranet site - increased visibility into organization, more direct communication to employees

    Cons

Multiple legacy systems for employee information. However, company is getting new global platform in 2nd quarter 2015, so that will be changing soon.

    Advice to Management

Continue to communicate with employees, and to listen to employee feedback. It is working!

    Pros

co-workers were great, felt like family

    Cons

micro-management, most of the supervisors were stupid and had no clue about what they were doing, stabbing each other in the back is a norm there. upper management dumps a lot of work on employees, very poor decisions, their restructuring plan is dramatically failing, somebody at the top is trying to save their high paying jobs by asking people, who were laid off, to come back! I have never seen anything like that before! Position descriptions are lies, when they actually hire you, they will dump everything possible on you for a low pay

    Advice to Management

treat the people who work under you as human beings with families and lives!!! that's why MG is having a very hard time finding people who want to work there!

    Pros

MoneyGram is a business that really offers its employees the ability to develop their skills and challenge themselves in a way that most other global businesses are not able to. With only 2,500 employees you find that there is a lack of silos which enable you to really get involved in projects and work with leaders in a way that would just not be feasible in other large businesses.

Your work is able to be recognized at a senior level due to the relatively small size but due to the large geo scope across a far broader audience.

MoneyGram is the sort of place that even if you are only there for 3 years you will pick up more skills, get exposed to more projects and have a diversity that will make you more employable in a large institution later in your career.

MoneyGram has a very good work life balance and appreciates that their employees when not working really need to switch off (many is the time my boss has told me to turn off my phone after hours). It has a good benefits package based on its size and revenues and whilst not the same as a big bank, I can confirm that after being in that world the work life balance at MoneyGram far outstrips its other bigger named counterparts in FS.

    Cons

MoneyGram is not perfection, but where is.

It is a business that wants to achieve and push itself. This in turn can lead to it setting goals that are not always achievable and this can see projects get moved, changed or frozen.

In addition due to its desire to drive itself, it can sometimes really set challenging goals and targets which sees its employees pulling out all the stops to deliver and this is where its lean infrastructure putting extra pressure on its staff.

    Pros

Company provides 401k plans, health, dental and vision coverage. Multicultural environment.

    Cons

Due to outsourcing, majority of the US based positions are being sent overseas. The focus on the bottom line overpowers the quality of work and employees.

    Pros

MoneyGram is TRULY a global organization. I get the chance to work with individuals all over the world. It is a place that if you are willing to roll up your sleeves and work hard, your efforts are rewarded. The people at MoneyGram are fun and dedicated to the cause!

    Cons

Because it's a global organization, I have had to adjust my 'waking up' schedule. Sometimes we have early morning calls, but it's worth it to get to work with my peers abroad.

    Advice to Management

Continue to share what is going on with your leaders and ask them to make sure it funnels down.

    Pros

Amazing people, good and fun environment, benefits are decent and the amount of PTO is very good.
Also, management has taken steps to make documentation related to projects "business standards". The business documentation used by Project Managers, Business Analyst, etc, are just as good as anything you will see at more organized companies.

    Cons

Many projects are simply attempts to copy something that Western Union is doing, just without the same project budget, the same project length (time wise) or... the same pay.
Compared to most companies, pay rates are very low!

    Advice to Management

If you really wanted to save money, you should have considered eliminating a few Senior VPs, VPs, Directors, etc.
Perhaps getting rid of a few of those 'upper management people' would provide you with the chance of keeping many of the jobs here in Lakewood... or at least in the US!

    Pros

Is funny to see all these good reviews from "Poland" it caught my attention that they are perfectly written . We all know that all upper management and employees in Poland barely speak and write English.
I wouldn't be surprised if leadership are asking overseas employees to write good reviews since they need them so bad .

    Cons

Leadership get millions in bunuses while employees get 2-60 cents raise every year. You are better without their benefits. The employee turnover is very high.

    Advice to Management

Stop bleeding and squeezing the core of the company instead squeeze the big cats
