I have been working at NetApp full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Good Work/life balance
    Friendly people
    Free Snacks/Drinks/Beer Bashes

    Cons

    - Not a good place to start off your career.
    - Most of the time is involved in bug fix. Very less development
    - Too much of work life balance leads to laziness in employees
    - New joinees are almost treated as newbies and not given any responsibilities leading to sense of complacency in them
    - Higher management not proactive and lacking innovation in products
    - Most importantly, frequent layoffs/reorgs created a sense of insecurity in the employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hiring and firing has become a very common activity at NetApp.
People join with a lot of enthusiasm to learn new things and thereby keep the company growing, but when the outlook of the company is not optimistic, good folks also start looking out.

Advice to the management, Please hire only if needed. NetApp is an innovation oriented company. Products differentiate NetApp from others. Look what the competitors are doing and focus on developing innovative products rather than Just Hiring.

Please stop boasting Netapp is ranked in top ten Best Places to Work and try attracting people. There are many other companies out there, which are ranked as the best places but never use it to attract folks

I have been working at NetApp full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Work in NetApp spread across various domains (eg: Storage, Hardware, Kernal, Cloud, Visualization, Backup etc.) So there is a scope for many to go in depth technically depends on one's interest. Flexible timings is one of the coolest part many people love it.

    Cons

Slightly uncertainty as the company is changing their strategy and organizations very frequently. Heavy work pressure/stress and this will impact personal growth.
