Lousy and shameless politics at its worst in OSS division in Bangalore

I worked at Nokia Networks full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

If you are in a good group and under a reasonably sane manager , you get to work in very good leading edge technologies in OSS domain

    Cons

Oh Boy Where do I start . The Bangalore centre is the real blot on the company . Don't ever join this company just by looking at brand name . The ground reality is very very different .

    - Disgustingly slow pace of working .
-Their OSS product is in works for the last god knows many years and still does not see the end of light . The management does not want to solve the problems they just want to grab the limelight . And they will stoop to any level to achieve the same .
    - Absolute lack of professionalism and ethics .The middle management in blr will ruin and sabotage the programs because almost all of them are not managers but mere power brokers or power pimps. The health of the project or program, quality of the product does not matter them , all they want is to protect their territory.
-No HR ....HR is toothless and spineless there .Line manager is the boss there .If you don't massage their egos you would be heading for disaster.
--Most of the work can done by high school graduates better than the useless old timers in bangalore .The work environment is such that you will forget whatever you have learnt all your life within six months of working
-The result of almost RCA will be management reorg but the crux of the problem remains because the muck, dirt that is the old timers remain at the helm of affairs

The list goes on and on ......

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire the middle management in bangalore . They earn fat salaries and enjoy all the perks and do NOTHING .They add absolutely add NO value to the company.

Check the attrition levels in the company . They are happening for a reason , the head count remains almost the same YoY because people leave within few months of joining ....Check why local management is not held accountable for the attrition in bangalore .
