I have been working at Ohio State University part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Working at the front desk offers great connections with management and residents. Residence halls provide a fun work atmosphere. Employees choose their own schedule and work with other current students.

    Cons

Employees are constantly competing for extra hours, making it tough to make a significant amount of money. Most extra hours usually come from overnight shifts.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The less micro-managing you do, the better the employees will perform. Allowing employees to choose their own schedules really helps with work-life balance.

I have been working at Ohio State University

    Pros

This is a great learning environment with great professors. There are an abundance of labs to join with different focuses. This is a great place to be if you enjoy working with RNA

    Cons

There are way too many students if you are a TA. Parking here is a disaster since the CampusParc take over so be sure to get here with plenty of time.

I worked at Ohio State University full-time for more than a year

    Pros

It is easy to do you duties here and there isn't the pressure of sell, sell, sell. It's kinda like a walled off garden that once you get in you never want to leave.

    Cons

The pay is not a competitive as other places but the benefits are good. They won't hire you if you don't have a degree. They only respect their own.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire the best talent, not the best resume.

Since it is a private institution they have not accountability. They are not fiscally responsible.

I worked at Ohio State University full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great benefits, I felt that I was professionally honored for my role. Was proud to be working with such great physicians And Students, residence and nurses.

    Cons

Very large campus to cover entire campus within my department.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please tell interviewing candidates the truth when asked specific questions regarding a department. I felt like I was lied to on purpose when I never got to the job I was hired for after three months.
