Current Employee – been working at Oracle full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Excellent work environment. Provides opportunities for growth internally. Excellent Brand Value. Very strong leadership team at the corporate.
Cons – Maintains very tight controls and some decision that could be taken at BU level too has to go for the highest levels of approvals.
The company has and is bloating with multiple acquisitions some of them really providing cutting edge and breakthrough technologies that can position Oracle in greatly advantageous position the market, However, integration of these acquired technologies in to their main steam offering is rather slow.
C&B specifically is seen as the biggest challenge seen by the mid/senior management, partly due the fact the salary ranges of an acquired product/service company gets merged with the Oracle standard salary ranges. And this doesn't take in to account the acquired companies domain expertise / skill sets and leaves little to no room for managing future increments of the acquired talent, and slowly you start seeing loosing them to competition. And this impacts the longterm positioning and integration of the acquired technologies in to the main stream prodcuts.
Advice to Senior Management – There is a lot of product overlaps, but when position it to a customer, the field Sales and Account teams MUST come together and represent as "ONE Oracle" to the customer and NOT compete internally, address and position products that best fits customers requirements considering protecting their longterm investments on products and technologies from Oracle.
C&B team to align offering in line with the technology/industry domains to remain competitive from the time an acquired company gets fully merged in to main stream Oracle, failing to do so results in loss of talent acquired by shelling huge monies.
