I have been working at Oracle full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Reasonable work and reasonable pressure in most of the teams.
Good work life balance - there is a price for everything, here its money.

    Cons

Many unwanted lower and middle management hierarchy busy with visibility and politics for their survival - contributing nothing, rather negatively, to the product and team culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To innovate you need to look beyond the visibility the redundant management is focused on, and measure the value they contribute.

I have been working at Oracle full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Ocean of knowledge. Generally the managers are supportive and helpful. allows radical out of the box thinking. free access to safari books. access to all of Oracle's products free. limitless opportunities if you are into experimenting SW etc.,

    Cons

red tape, bureaucracy, pointless and unfair HR mandated guidelines make it difficult for an employee to want to stay or grow. Promotions and salaries are a joke especially after 2-3 years. Loyalty is punished rather than rewarded.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The employees make a company and not its acquisitions. Instead of wasting billions of dollars shopping for other companies, stop and check where you are and reward those who have gotten you so far.We have not implemented solutions from acquisitions from over 3 years. Rethink your priorities and strategies.
work life balance is not looked at or given importance to at all. HR norms for transfers are only designed to impede growth and raise attrition. Learn when and where to make exceptions to such impediments.
