    Pros

hardworking group of people. good place to refine skills with technical measurements. diversity with fellow emplyoees makes for an outstanding work environment

    Cons

managers are too concerned about numbers at the end if the day and it creates a conflict of interest for new employees. training is focused on learning on you own with a lot of telling you what you did wrong rather than what you did right

    Pros

This company is very corporate and keeps their standards very professional when it comes to customer service. I have worked a lot of customer service jobs before in the past and this is the only company in the restaurant industry I can see myself moving up into corporate.

Be ready to work hard in a fast pace environment

    Great Location

    Cons

Management team is friendly, however needs to learn to communicate from the top down better.
    No vacation time

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop better communication between the management and the staff. Focus some attention on the guests not just administration duties and operation logistics of the restaurant.

Former Employee - Wok Cook in San Diego, CA (US)

    I worked at P.F. Chang's part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

as a cook, the hourly pay is ok and if you get a good store or manager, you'll be able to eat plenty. ample opportunities to move up. private ownership of the company really ruined a lot of the managerial perks.

    Cons

the hours suck. i worked 6 days a week over the summer and only clocked in 36-38 hrs a week. most shifts are 6-6.5 hrs

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

treat your good workers better. give them the hours they want/need instead of splitting them with new hires that are barely learning how to toss food in a wok

Current Employee - PF Changs Server in Dallas, TX (US)

I have been working at P.F. Chang's part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The job has pretty flexible hours and the managers usually respect your availability. Money is decent during the busy season.

    Cons

If you are available to work all day Saturday and Sunday you will not be allowed a break. It will often be a 11-13 hour straight shift and they will only feed you sometimes. There's no such thing as a holiday break. You have to be available to work holidays, especially from Black Friday until New Year's Day. Naturally, since this is the restaurant business, don't expect any benefits really.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I don't expect this to change, but if you schedule someone against their availability, it should not fall upon their shoulders to find someone to cover their shift or face the consequences. Favoritism is also an annoying thing to have to deal with. You're in a leadership position. Some professionalism would be nice from time to time.

    Pros

Uses hotschedules, friendly atmosphere, great place to work your way up to serving, flexible work schedule

    Cons

Managers aren't held accountable, the training program is extremely lacking- they think they have perfected it to a T but are unorganized and unwilling to listen to suggestions.
