Former Employee – worked at P.F. Chang's full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – This place used to be the best place to work for, I worked 15 years but the past 6 months are being the worst.
Cons – I don't like where the company is going anymore. From COO and above make money, anything below are making less and less every year. Keep switching bonus structure but convenient to corp and no the employee, is hard and almost impossible to beat targets to make bonus when company is loosing sales. Concentrate on bottom line only. Regardless if they are loosing customers that way. Lot of partners lost big bucks this last 6months
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up what you are doing and you will be the next Olive Garden. Remember you get for what you paid for. Bring low salaries employees you will get low results.

Current Employee – been working at P.F. Chang's full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – PF Chang's has done such a great job creating its brand name that even through recessionary times we stay very busy. I make great money and the schedule is very flexible. When you visit other restaurants and see how they do things, you cant help but feel like you are working for one of the best. I have worked for four other restaurants prior to Chang's, and no other corporate restaurant in my experience is as professional as PF Chang's. We focus greatly on our guest to ensure they have the best experience they can. The pay is also better, not just because I make more tips here, but there is also opportunity for a base pay increase.
Cons – It seems there is not very far to climb. The corporate way of this company is to only let you achieve management in a single store. If you have goals to work in corporate or in a district management or any other form of advancement beyond your own little store, good luck. Other cons of this restaurant are typical in the corporate restaurant environment. They constantly make changes that seem to not make sense because frankly they don't know what it is like on the front lines of the restaurant. Also, they have decided to cut wages for all of the management staff.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop suffocating your operating partners with all of your micro management controls. Set the guidelines and then let go just a little bit. You may be surprised that when you let someone govern more of their own restaurant it may become more profitable. Besides who really knows the customers of the store, someone who deals with them everyday, or someone who is sitting behind a desk somewhere ten states away? Also, don't strip away incentives. Its pretty simple incentives drive those who are receiving them to do greater so they can receive more, if you take them away where is their INCENTIVE to improve?

Current Employee – been working at P.F. Chang's full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Very thorough training. Hard-working team-oriented co-workers. Web-based scheduling through hotschedules.com -- great mobile app by hotschedules.
Cons – DRAMA. High-volume restaurant can make for tired and stressed out servers and bartenders. JACKASS customers who are practiced at getting comped. "Well at the PFChangs in blankety blank they never charge me to sub noodles for rice. And these dumplings are so gummy and overcooked. What are you going to do about this!!" (Oh man do I pity your spouse and kids. Please just go back to blankety blank)
Advice to Senior Management – Discern the Peter Principle: People climbing the corporate ladder eventually rise above their level of competence. Their subordinates must then suffer through their incompetence until they are inevitably demoted or terminated. Please, if an employee shows any tendencies toward covering their ass, it will only get worse if they are promoted to management. Also, it would be nice if the people at the regional level and higher engaged the restaurant employees as human beings supporting this corporate pyramid. It's as if they enter the restaurant and see a machine to exam and tweak, rarely acknowledging the hard-working people (with actual names they could inquire of) keeping the doors open each day. Yep. Admirable mission statement, but the bottom line trumps it.

Former Employee – worked at P.F. Chang's full-time for less than a year
Pros – Fast paced environment. Teamwork is promoted between all levels of employees. Decent pay if you develop some customer loyalty.
Cons – The company was recently privatized and the management will try to squeeze every ounce of profit-producing activities out of you. There is a lot of favoritism.
If you want to make good money you will have to attain seniority (by being there the longest), brown nosing with the management, and working late on weekends.
Advice to Senior Management – Chill out and let people do their jobs.

Current Employee – been working at P.F. Chang's part-time for less than a year
Pros – my coworkers are great and everyone tries to help each other
Cons – place is very disorganized and management concentrates on the wrong things. The place is asking me to claim tips that I in turn tip out to other staff, so I am claiming more money than I am actually making......................

Pros – I really love working here. The management team is so understanding and caring of personal problems. I really get along with most of the other employees. The guests that come in on a regular basis are fairly easy to deal with.
Cons – I wish people would stick around so that we aren't so understaffed.
