Current Employee – been working at Patterson Companies full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Dentist are usually good professionals to work with. No weekends
Cons – High stress/ pressure to get high volume productivity with little training. Management @ Boston mislead you in interview with upward wage+ promotion, but expect more for lower wages. Huge turnover most employees have downward wages over years. If Company profits up why cut wages + benefits/ growth in the division. Had 7 bosses in less than 10 years. Looking for new job. You are totally on your own here. Very poor communication.
Advice to Senior Management – Treat all your employees the way you want to be treated.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Former Employee – worked at Patterson Companies full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Nice work balance, cafe and work out room at corp headquarters.
Cons – Lack advancement opportunities. Upper management shuts the door on suggestions for improvments, missing the mark and keeping employee retention.
Advice to Senior Management – Work on the employees that you already have invested time and money on.

Current Employee – been working at Patterson Companies
Pros – Patterson has a fresh, professional and respectful business culture, is very process oriented and extremely democractic. Work is challenging yet I rarely work over 40 hours a week as the company honors the needed balance between work and personal life.
Cons – Advancement is flat, recently our team had two promotions to management without the jobs ever being available for applying within. Employee retention, at least on the analyst team, is quite poor. We've had up to 8 members leave within the past year and a half, mostly due to boredom with the type of work, salary or benefits
Advice to Senior Management – You need to take a serious look at the extreme lack of advancement opportunities in the IT organization as well as focus on employee retention.

Former Employee – worked at Patterson Companies
Pros – Good Salary & Comission Package. Management at the district level was fair and worked well as a team. Nice people overall.
Cons – Poor communication between Senior and Mid Level Management. Led to finger pointing and poor experience of how a workplace should function.
Advice to Senior Management – Be quicker to make decisions and not pawn off responsibilities to others to wash your hands clean of the situation.

Former Employee – worked at Patterson Companies
Pros – Dental experience. But that's it for a software organization. No other good reason to be there. The remaining development group has some wonderful people in it. Really good guys.
Cons – Moved from a solid open-source software engineering organization to a closed minded Microsoft shop. REDUCED their effectiveness as a development organization.
Advice to Senior Management – Firing the senior management at CAESY and running the company from Effingham was a dumb idea. That ended the likely prospects for CAESY in one blow
