Customer Service Representative

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Polo Ralph Lauren

ProsThe company invests a month of training for each employee so you are incredibly educated and current with fashion. They allow much freedom in customer service decision making.

ConsYou must frequently review your calls by listening to yourself with management and looking for improvements. Your time away from your desk is greatly regulated and zero room for error since you are easily replaceable.

Advice to Senior ManagementConduct psychoanalysis profiles for potential employees.

Shipping & Receiving

Shipping Manager (Current Employee)
Aspen, CO (US)

I have been working at Polo Ralph Lauren full-time for more than a year

ProsEndless opportunity for personal and professional growth. Constant challenge. Positive energetic work atmosphere. Clearly defined goals for promotions. The business is structured for individuals to grow. The focus is on building and growing individuals to become the better versions of themselves.

ConsThe con of this business is that it will challenge you, you will be exposed. Failure is a part of success and success is a measure of the individual and their correct actions/behavior. The con is that politics plays no part here. This is a merit based business that attracts high performers willing to accept responsibility for their growth/success or lack thereof. Simple but not easy. Hard work is a must!

Associate Product manager

Associate Product Manager (Former Employee)
New York, NY (US)

I worked at Polo Ralph Lauren full-time for more than a year

ProsDiscount is 50% but never used because the clothing is not that great. 50% at Club Monaco, much better. Benefits were good, but then they switched to the WORST health care plan in existence. Job security.

ConsVery unorganized, no formal training. I was trained by someone who had only started a few months before me. High expectations. They expect you to know everything even if you havent been taught something. No one really knows what they are doing there. You ask someone a question and they look back at you with a blank stare. GIRLS ARE VERY CLIQUEY, very high school. VERY LOW PAY for associates. VP and Sr Directors will barely look at you in the eyes and forget your name constantly even though youve worked there for years. *BEWARE OF CHILDRENSWEAR* very high turnover rate. Few people last more than a few months, and the ones that stay work until 2 am. NO ROOM for growth unless you are willing to give up your life. Oh and bed bugs.

Advice to Senior Management*VALUE YOUR EMPLOYEES* The reason people leave so quickly is because management does not care about you.
