    Very good salary, bonus, benefits, etc. Very entreprenurial atmosphere, often willing to let you go "off topic" a bit to work on other areas of interest

    I worked at Prudential as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

    I had two tours of duty at Prudential, employee and consultant - nice work environment, better culture and benefits than most. People tend to stay there awhile - that should tell you something.

    Cons

    Because of the NJ nexus, salary is a bit less than one might expect coming out of NYC. I found that being closer to home made up for the difference in time and commutation expense.

    One of the downsides to the Newark / Roseland focus is lack of competition for the best and brightest - as a result, folks settle in to jobs for the long haul, and it does stifle creativity and advancement. Let's find a way to shake things up so performers can move up before they leave the firm...
