I have been working at PwC full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Perceived as a good brand value in the market.

    Cons

Not employee friendly, management thinks food and transport facilities are not as important as the work you do. The cafeteria (garbage remains undisposed and smells at times) and washroom hygiene is not up to the mark. Lighting and seating arrangements seem to be inadequate. Team lead often harasses to work over the weekend or at odd working hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value the inputs of the employee on his/her concerns, rather than pretending to not see it. Management and company infrastructure is spoiling company's perceived brand name.

I have been working at PwC full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I would say NOTHING. Not even single point to praise PwC SDC. This is just a life spoiler for many employees.

    Cons

If anyone wants to spoil their life please join PwC ( SDC ). I'm working here from January 2014. PwC SDC India doesn't even have good management people. They started hiring lot of people and still hiring with no reason and no projects.

Please consult 3/4 employees before joining ask interviewers before they even start an interview.

HR will behave as though they are all born with aptitude and great attitude nothing guys its all fake. We are seeing them everyday they are absolute zero.

Management will say only one point PwC is a big brand. They chant all the time and they are spoiling it on the other side. Whether you come from big decent organisation with values leave everything before stepping inside PwC SDC.

Whatever skill you gained or want to continue with forget all PwC director management has only one mantra
billable resource they have spoiled life of employees like sending iOS, other talented employees to do data entry job. Its must you can't say no.

Till today I have not understood about PwC is for doing data entry job why do you need engineers and iOS, JAVA, ATG and android resources ?

Recently PwC SDC hiring lot of number, no one is having project and everyone dying to go out. Its like a trap, no one understands this trap.

HR's have a huge black money commission from consultants their job is to make sure employees stay here for min 3 months and they pay to consultants so consultants will pay to PwC management as their deed in back.

Advice to everyone before joining ask questions to interview panel, managers. Get to know about projects very well , since PwC don't have any project they cheat you and hire. Careful about this fact.

HR's / Management policy : You feel its not US cultured but they say PwC is great brand by chanting word brand 100 times a day. For everything you need to pay. Reimbursement is hell, you need to run behind people everyone try to escape telling others name to contact.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

First thing to do is hire a director who can talk sensibly understands what is market and what are employees.
You people get billing but don't play, spoil hiring good candidates and spoiling their technology. They are all not your kids to play with their life. Do same with your kids don't rule people.

I worked at PwC full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I think the only thing going for PwC India is its brand name. PwC evokes strong industry confidence (though I am not sure why since most of the audits which turn sour are performed by PwC!) and the consulting arm, though much smaller than Deloitte allows people to quickly understand how the industry works and also allows them to work in a variety of industries to gain more experience.

    Cons

    1) In the Calcutta offices for some reason people have a serious attitude problem and a complete lack of professionalism. Sons and daughters of politicians work here and behave as if they own the company bad-mouthing partners and treating subordinates as crap. After working in Bangalore and Delhi, PwC Calcutta was so much of a shock to me that I almost went into depression!!!

    2) Partners are God attitude is extremely annoying and highly inefficient.

    3) For the same position there is sometimes a huge difference in pay scale depending on how you negotiate and how badly they want you in.

    4) PwC Calcutta offices ofcoure are glorified BPOs and KPOs. The infrastructure and the kind of work mirrors the state of affairs in West Bengal - horrible. For days we had to sit in the sweltering heat of Calcutta when the AC of the building went kaput, the repairing of which took over a months time. This in a company which earned 30 bn in 2013

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring some level of culture and professionalism in the offices! Understand that while its good for the company to have people who have stayed back for over 6-7 years, their lack of professionalism cannot be tolerated. Follow a more flat culture - PwC currently has a very triangular hierarchical culture which cannot be good for any firm in these times. Have better compensation systems - if you expect a consultant to be available 24 hrs a day, then make sure you pay him commensurately.
