Challenging and competitive environment but flexible work hours

Associate Engineer (Current Employee)
Bangalore

I have been working at Qualcomm full-time for less than a year

ProsThis company is a leader in the mobile SOC and mobile communications market. There is lot to learn in here. The compensation is also on the higher side with respect to the average in the market.

ConsVery stressful, maintaining work life balance is not easy. We have to work in weekends even if the project is not in the peak phase.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement should encourage their employees to venture into things other than work. Reducing stress considerably increases productivity.

ProsExcellent work to be done and good salary and benefits.

Great people around from whom you can learn a lot.

Excellent place to work at! Excellent growth. Excellent Exposure

Senior Engineer (Current Employee)
Hyderābād

I have been working at Qualcomm full-time for more than a year

ProsThere are a lot of Pro's of working in Qualcomm India Pvt Ltd.
1. Best compensation and benefits
2. Excellent work to be done. It depends actually which team you are a part of.
3. Good chance to work on latest and cutting edge technology
4. You would learn to response under pressure
5. Flexi work hours
6. Everyone gets their own laptop and work from home facility
7. You can even work with your own personal laptop.
8. All communication happens over emails, so no one can steal anyone's credit.
9. RSU options available.
10. ESPP's also available.
11. Hikes happen 2 times in a year which is good.
12. Most folks in US are very easy to approach and talk to.
13. Free breakfast and Lunch.
14. Transportation subsidy.
15. Mobile phones/ iPhone Subsidy.
16. Gym present on campus

ConsMost of the Cons are as follows -->
1. If not in the right team, you can end up being in support work in Qualcomm India Pvt Ltd.
2. Work pressures in Qualcomm India are High.
3. Not all people are easily approachable in QIPL.
4. US teams don't bother too much about hierarchy, but Qualcomm India still has that.
5. Can't interact with most employees over talk because of language barrier. Most of them start/discuss in regional language and not in English
6. Learning curve is not too steep. If you are in development team, you would learn only your module. You may not have a chance to learn other Modules/Technology.
